Bad habits

This summer we’re going to be exploring Jesus’ bad habits. Wait, what? Jesus had bad habits? He, who was perfect and without sin? How can that be? I mean, I have bad habits like eating too many sweets, not exercising enough, going to bed late…I won’t bore with you confessing my long list. But, Jesus and bad habits don’t seem like words that go together.

Perhaps Jesus’ bad habits are just things that go against what the disciples or we think he should have been doing. So, maybe they are things we need to think about it and ponder.

Ponder – I like that word. It brings to mind stopping what I’m doing, reflecting, thinking, in a slow and easy way. Why I think that’s one of Jesus’ habits that the disciples weren’t sure about “Where were you Jesus? We’ve so much to do and yet you ran off.”

Summer is the perfect time to ponder – the days are long and warm. Inviting us to slow down and think…about things like Jesus’ bad habits! (See what I did there?)

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 am as we gather for a little group pondering. Thanking, praising and worshiping God. Hearing a piece of the Good News that may help us work on our own bad habits. You won’t want to miss Pastor Dave’s special guest, Alex B of the MVHS Tennis Team.

Grace be with you,
