Back Seat

Humble & Kind... what does that look like?

During this hurried holiday season it may be difficult to see. I doubt that anyone over the weekend heard the words, “Of course you can cut in line to get the very last of my grandchild’s most desired Christmas toy”. Did you observe anyone in the mall parking lot graciously giving up the last space? It’s an incredibly busy time of the year that the true meaning of Christmas takes a back seat. The Christmas lights and decorations, the making and baking, and the search for the perfect gift seems to take over.

Do the holiday cards and get togethers highlight the biggest and best of the year?

Don’t you get really tired of hearing how many awards little Joey won this year? Especially if your year was a really tough one.

There are many ways to be humble and kind:

Helping someone carry packages to their car...

Helping the neighbor with their outdoor lights, even if it involves a ladder...

Cookies and caroling to the shut ins...

Purchasing a meal or gifts for those less fortunate...

The list is endless.

We have so many opportunities to share our time, talent, and resources.

In Acts 20:35, “ Jesus himself said, It is more blessed to give than receive.”

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! May we all share the blessed gifts we have been given from God.
