Autumn Song

It’s fall.

O, my soul, bless God! (Psalm 104) This Psalm thanks God for creation and all the ways God’s creation is alive and active; even in the changing of the seasons. Take some time to read Psalm 104 today and thank God for creation.

And, here’s another poem about fall by Mary Oliver.

Song for Autumn

In the deep fall
don’t you imagine the leaves think how
comfortable it will be to touch
the earth instead of the
nothingness of air and the endless
freshets of wind? And don’t you think
the trees themselves, especially those with mossy,
warm caves, begin to think

of the birds that will come — six, a dozen — to sleep
inside their bodies? And don’t you hear
the goldenrod whispering goodbye,
the everlasting being crowned with the first
tuffets of snow? The pond
vanishes, and the white field over which
the fox runs so quickly brings out
its blue shadows. And the wind pumps its
bellows. And at evening especially,
the piled firewood shifts a little,
longing to be on its way.

Magnificent goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous to and you're just too excellent.

I actually like what you have acquired here, really like what you're saying and the
way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still
care for to keep it smart. I can't wait to read far more from you.
This is really a great website.
