Are You Worn Out?

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

“You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.” Those were the words spoken by the angel to Zechariah in Luke1:14, letting him know that he was going to be the father of John the Baptist. Joy was headed his way as a gift from God!

On this eve of Thanksgiving what do you give thanks for?  I am thankful for the means by which joy enters into my life. Purpose and meaning fill my life and give me great joy!

George Bernard Shaw said, ”This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one: the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap, and being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.”

If you are worn out from being used for a purpose count your blessings. For you are among those who are most blessed.

If you lack purpose in your life? May God hear your prayers and place the opportunity to become “worn out” in service soon.

Let us pray for deep purpose and meaning to come to every life, each day and always.

Count your blessings this Thanksgiving.
