An Empowering God

“He made the entire human race…with plenty of time and space for living, so we could seek after God, and…actually find him.” Acts 17:26 - The Message

By living from a place of vulnerability, I learn about the goodness of God. That God, is more than a powerful God, he’s an empowering God. It’s God’s intention to interact with us. He modeled this when he gave us Jesus. It’s the Hope Jesus gives. Now I know the responsibility I have in my own healing and in the healing of the world. It’s not all up to me. He has given me others to pray with, God is present, interacting with us all. My image of God and the nature of the relationship I have with God, has changed over the years. The love of God that is present in others, connects me to them, brings me comfort through life’s struggles and reminds me I’m not alone. I don’t expect God to fix everything. I have to ask myself this question often. Can I trust in God’s healing intention for me, all people in the world and all of creation? I need to develop this trust daily. Daily, become radically dependent on God and acknowledge God’s closeness and availability.

“We are free in relationship to each other, discovering an equal acceptance. Other persons are not enemies to fear, not superior beings to envy, not deadbeats to avoid. In Christ every person is or can be experienced in a new way, a person we are free to receive and love without fear of being diminished or Intimidated.” The Traveling Light

Father God, May I trust in your son Jesus, in the love he so freely gave us all. Through the love of Christ, be an instrument of your peace. Thank you for making it possible for me to live a Spirit-empowered life. In Jesus name. Amen
