Among Us

Dear Easter People,

“We do not gather at Easter to celebrate a doctrine, the doctrine of the Resurrection. We come to rejoice in the presence of one we love, in Jesus who was lost to us and has been found.” Herbert McCabe

On Easter, Jesus not only defeated death, rose victorious over the grave, and triumphed over evil and sin, Jesus also came back to us. Our Lord not only rose to be present with us in heaven, but also right now at the table, beside the sea, and along the road.

Let us give thanks to Jesus for his continuing presence among us. When we feel we have hit that obstacle in our daily grind that is humanly impossible to navigate, we now have the divine power to move forward with purpose. The promise of resurrection truth is accessible now and forever. “The kingdom of God is at hand!,”                                                                     says Jesus.

For further reflection read the gospel of Mark chapters 15 and 16.

You are invited to gather on Maundy Thursday at 3pm and on Good Friday at 7pm for Holy Week spiritual formation opportunities. See the church web site for details:

I hope to see you...

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
