All Who Are Thirsty

It seems our spring this year has been filled with more snow than we thought we wanted.  But – oh, our earth is so thirsty!  The life-giving moisture is indeed a blessing.

We, too, can be thirsty.  The prophet Isaiah knows this.

Hey there! All who are thirsty,
come to the water!
Are you penniless?
Come anyway—buy and eat!
Come, buy your drinks, buy wine and milk.
Buy without money—everything’s free! Isaiah 55:1 The Msg

But sometimes I think we’re not sure what we thirsting for.  With messages bombarding us from every direction, we are looking for good news, hope, peace and purpose.  And God has these words for us – if only we will come to the pool of God’s water.

Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best,
fill yourself with only the finest.
Pay attention, come close now,
listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words.  Isaiah 55:2-3 The Msg

When we take some time to stop, turn off the world’s messages and drink in God’s Word, we will find that our thirst has been quenched.  The life-giving moisture will renew our souls.

So you’ll go out in joy,
you’ll be led into a whole and complete life.
The mountains and hills will lead the parade,
bursting with song. Isaiah 55:12 The Msg

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 as we hear about God’s lavish gifts that were found in Nicaragua from our brothers who just returned from there: Pastor Dave, Trace Tyler and Shawn Batterberry.

God bless you,
Vikki
