Another Saturday. Another lament.

And yet…

This morning we’re hosting a VBS “Pet’s Unleashed” at Confluence. Kids coming together to learn that Jesus cares “fur” us.

And yet…

Sadness. Sorrow. Laughter. Joy. Can we feel all of these things at once?

"The word patience comes from the Latin verb patior, which means "to suffer." Waiting patiently is suffering through the present moment, tasting it to the full, and letting the seeds that are sown in the ground on which we stand grow into strong plants. Waiting patiently always means paying attention to what is happening right before our eyes and seeing there the first rays of God's glorious coming." ~ Henri J. M. Nouwen

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 a.m. We hope to see you, to hug you and offer comfort to one another, but you’re also welcome to join us from afar by watching the live stream of worship at 9 or 10:30. Go here to do that.

"Good is stronger than evil; love is stronger than hate; light is stronger than darkness; life is stronger than death. Victory is ours, through him who loves us…Child of God, known by name, and whose very hairs are numbered. Praise and adore God and thank him for ever and ever." ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu in “An African Prayer Book”

May we mourn and grieve and choose to love and look for and be the light.

Grace be with you,
