A New Way

Dear Saints ( A Saint is a “forgiven sinner”-Martin Luther),

“In worship we have our neighbors to right and left, before and behind , yet the Eternal Presence is over all and beneath all. Worship does not consist in achieving a mental state of concentrated isolation from one’sfellows. But in depth of common worship it is as if we found our separate lives were all one life, within whom we live and move and find our being.” Thomas Raymond Kelly

I like Kelly’s definition of worship...On Sunday mornings we are invited to leave whatever isolation we’ve journeyed with to be joined together with our brothers and sisters. As one body in Christ we are melted together and shaped anew through the communal experience of baptism, holy communion, and the Word of God. There is great value in the gift we share each Sunday at 9am and 10:30am. May the Lord continue to bless us with such opportunity in our spiritual journey.

THIS WEEKEND, we invite you to step outside of the normal worship pattern and join your brothers and sisters in a new way. We are going to be “Raising the Walls” with Church of the Ranch and Mission Ministries of Littleton to build four houses for Juarez, Mexico. We will begin at 9am at Platte River Academy 4085 Lark Sparrow St., LittletonColorado 80126, just south of County Line off Colorado Blvd. We will culminate the day with a noon time chili cook off and be on our way.

The Lord has spoken and in worship this week, we will find that there are no “separate lives” in Christ Jesus. We are all one. The communal element will be exponential as we serve next to those we know, and siblings we will meet on Sunday. The homes will be packed up and sent to Juarez through the power of the Holy Spirit serving families who have only known dirt floors and pallet walls.

Come let us gather for worship and see this new thing the Lord is doing among us.

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
