Sunday to Monday | Remembrance

On Sunday, Vikki led us down a path of remembrance...On the church calendar, yesterday was Trinity Sunday, a solemn day of remembering God as 3 in 1. With an apple as a visual prompt, we were reminded that God is the peel, the protective cover of the flesh (Jesus, the son) and the core, or seeds (the Holy Spirit.)

Vikki also talked about the importance of Memorial Day on our lay calendar, and challenged us to again remember... those who have died while protecting our freedoms.

Vikki spoke of the special Sunday kind of love that God has for us...much different than the Monday through Saturday kind of love that we all crave. God's doesn't love us because of how good WE are, but rather because he is good....because GOD IS GOOD!

Some questions to think about this week…

-What happens to your mind when you read Jesus’ words in John 16:12-15? Are you like the disciples who tune Jesus out? What do you need to do to really listen to Jesus?

-How would you describe God to someone who had no or little experience of God?

-What can you do this summer to create opportunities to explore the mystery of the 3 in 1 God in creation, on vacation or with family & friends?

-How can Memorial Day be more than just a day to kickoff summer? Who do you need to remember that died in service to this country?
