2020 Vision

Tomorrow we will hear the Good News of God proclaimed as Matthew 3:13-17 is read. Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist. The scripture says that God has chosen Jesus, that he is loved and that God is pleased.

Human beings are created in the image of God (Genesis 1). We too are God’s chosen and beloved children. But too often we forget that Good News. We see ourselves and others differently.

Since it’s 2020, perhaps it’s time for us to see more clearly and put on our God-goggles, turn on the God-vision, clean off the God-glasses and really see ourselves, our family members, our neighbors, the stranger and those who think and live differently as children of God. So that each of us might know the Good News that we are chosen and beloved.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 10:00 am as we celebrate. It won’t be the same without you.

Grace be with you,

"God's love is the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the light we see." — Ernesto Cardenal
